Galleria K, Huittinen 2004
The exhibition consisted of seven human sculptures mounted on the wall. They were based on moving images: films and video footage I had shot myself. The moving image provides a readily fictitious point of departure for the works. What is interesting here is the relationship between the model, the character portrayed by the model and the finished sculpture. The human bodies were cropped both in temporal and visual terms. Depending on the way of viewing, they can be perceived either as half-length portraits or busts.
