Casting is a work cast directly on the wall. I attached moulds made of elastic fabric on the wall and cast body-tinted plaster in them. The form of the work was dictated by the casting, gravity and the elasticity of the fabric. The work consisted of several parallel and layered castings, with drips and marks that appeared during the process. The whole process took two days.
My objective was to combine the space and the physical presence with a gesture-like painting philosophy. A sculptural act, casting, is combined with providing the work with a colour. In this way, the work becomes part of the place where it is being displayed: the wall to which it is cast. The work can also be seen as a kind of spatial record of a situation.
